🐇 Florum animalium: lepus
New floral fineliner illustration and a creative mindfulness pause from the humdrum
I hope this finds you well and that you’re savouring the slower pace that summer brings. Consider this one of those little interlude posts, a pause between the usual humdrum of life.
You see, I’ve been taking a much-needed break from the busyness of work and taking time out to simply be. After feeling rather discombobulated these past months, it’s been a wonderful mix of plein air drawing, walks, time on the beach, artist dates and gallery visits, as well as fun and frolics with the family.
This break has given me the space to clear my mind, let go of the daily rush, and allow creative ideas to flow naturally. Though it’s been a staycation rather than a grand adventure, sometimes just stepping away from routine is all we need to see life from a fresh perspective. In these moments, I’ve found myself embracing life’s uncertainties with a little more grace.
And of course, I've had plenty of time to draw, draw, and draw some more! While words may not always flow as effortlessly as the lines of my drawings, I'm excited to share my latest creation with you today: Florum animalium: lepus 🐇
This time out has reminded me of the importance of embracing each day, creating for the joy of it, and not letting the unknowns of the future hold us back.
As Jim Carrey said, “You can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”
I hope you, too, find the space to breathe, create, and live fully in the moment.
Have an inspired day
