And so I rise
The Phoenix drawing in all her glory, trusting that even in destruction, there’s always the promise of rebirth.
Join me in exploring the intersection of creativity and well-being, reflecting on the artist’s journey and my own late-blooming transition to the artist's life after redundancy. Is it possible? Let’s find out together!
Hello, my creative friend,
This is a quick one from me today. This week, I’ve been focused on the Phoenix, finishing a drawing that represents how I rise again after life’s trials.
The Phoenix is a profound symbol of rebirth, transformation, and resilience. For centuries, she has appeared in myths and stories, reminding us that something beautiful can emerge from decay and even destruction.
🐦🔥 Phoenix Regeneration
Nature tells her story in its own way. When an ancient tree falls or begins to decay, it may look like an end. But in truth, it’s the start of something fresh. The fallen trunk becomes fertile ground for moss, fungi, and tiny seedlings to take root. Little shoots push through the cracks, drawing strength from what was before. In time, life reclaims what seemed lost, transforming it into something new and full of potential.
We’re much the same. Life can strip us bare, leaving us feeling lost, uprooted, or burnt out. But, just like those trees, we, too, have the power to regenerate. Pain reshapes us, and challenges refine us. Though we may not emerge unchanged, we do emerge stronger, more resilient, and with a deeper understanding of who we are.
Some seasons of life burn us to the core. Everything we hold onto crumbles into ashes. We stand, shaken and singed, staring at the remnants of what was. But even in the ashes, something stirs. A spark, the beginning of something new. Not the same as before but perhaps even greater.
This Phoenix is my reminder. I’ve faced the fire of burnout and those moments when it feels like everything is lost. But I refuse to be defeated. I rise again, stronger and wiser, with growth woven into every part of me.
As Maya Angelou so beautifully wrote:
Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I’ll rise.
May we all embrace our transformations, trusting that even in destruction, there’s always the promise of rebirth.
Have an inspired day 💖

🧠 Creative Prompt inspired by the Phoenix
Inspired by the Phoenix, what part of you feels like it’s burning away, and what is emerging in its place?
What are you rising from?
I’d love to hear from you in the comments.

Beautiful work and resonates deeply having gone through a transformation myself after a breakup with my toxic family. Thank you
Beautiful work! Fire, burnout, maya's poem etc have had a lot of meaning to me too these past years. It's all part of the journey. Not always easy but necessary. Thanks for sharing!
