I'm so sorry to hear you've had a tough time. I love how you are processing your experience through your art (I had a little peek at your work, and it's wonderful!). x
Beautiful work! Fire, burnout, maya's poem etc have had a lot of meaning to me too these past years. It's all part of the journey. Not always easy but necessary. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your lovely words. I'm so pleased this post and the Phoenix have resonated with you. As you say, these experiences are not always easy but are necessary. I like to think they make way for something better! x
So beautiful Georgie! I love the symbolism of the phoenix. I'm hoping now grace has gone off to Uni and my health is improving that I'm ready to rise! With some help from Substack I hope. Good luck with your new beginning. ☺️🔥
From my perspective, and if your Substack is any representation of you, you are indeed rising! You are a wonderful, creative soul who is giving so much to the world through your work - you most definitely have the spirit of the Phoenix ☺️🔥
PS How are you finding the empty nest after your daughter went to Uni? I've had that journey with both my sons now. It's a strange feeling, isn't it? x
It was awful to begin with. I cried for days when Zac (he was the first to leave the nest) went to Uni during COVID, so he was really isolated and lonely. His second and third were a lot easier for all of us because he was definitely happier.
When Jake (his my number 2 son) went travelling, I didn't see him for a year, which was really weird - I used to track him on Find My iPhone to see where he was in the world! But now he's at Uni, like you say, it's easier because he's happier and at least he's in the UK :)
Oh gosh, I think going travelling for a whole year is another kettle of fish! And yes, if they aren’t happy that’s got to be so tough. I was so relieved that Grace settled in ok - and had no pandemic to deal with! 🙏🏻
Beautiful work and resonates deeply having gone through a transformation myself after a breakup with my toxic family. Thank you

Thank you. Yes it is what I fought hard to be able to do. Being expressive

It is so strange but she’s so happy so i’m not sad at all. Also it’s easy to stay in touch nowadays which really helps! How did you find it?
