🎨 Creative Mindfulness: Bike Drawing Warmup Exercise

This is a gentle all-rounder. Calming, soothing, and a lovely way to ease into a creative flow. It’s perfect as a warm-up for anyone who draws, paints, crafts, knits (or just wants a mindful pause).

Free subscribers have full access to the video for 1 week on Substack. I want everyone to be able to try these exercises and join in with the Creative Snacks – no barriers, just creativity!

In this Creative Snack, we blend a bit of mindfulness with a playful drawing activity — sketching a bike. It’s a gentle way to loosen up your hands, shake off any tension, and ease into a creative headspace. You’ll just need a pen, pencil, and an eraser.

We’ll start with the frame, then add the seat and handlebars — syncing breath with line, and letting the process slow us right down. It’s calming, grounding, and a lovely warm-up for whatever creative thing you’ve got planned next.

Give it a go, see how it feels — and if you fancy, share your experience in the comments. I’d love to hear how it lands for you.

🌿 What you'll need

✅ A pen, a pencil and an eraser. Plus paper of course 😉

📥 Discover the book I recommend for more breathwork-inspired creative prompts and post-exercise reflections.

It’s one of my favourite resources: a beautifully illustrated guide that blends mindful breathing with simple, expressive drawing. It’s calming, clever, and completely unique.

If yoga and doodling had a baby, this book would be it!

Endorsed by some of the leading names in mindfulness, it quietly shifts how you approach both your breath and creative practice.

If that’s piqued your curiosity, take a look — I think you’ll love it 💫
